What is a binder?
Bodies and body types can vary a lot from one body to another. As a reminder, a binder is a compressive top that flattens your chest and gives it the appearance of a flat torso. It can particularly be used by trans masculine, non-binary or queer people to have a more masculine or androgynous gender expression.
As you have probably already seen, BYWA offers two different types of linings on our short binders. the Original model and the X-Tra binder.
The difference between the two ranges:
The “Original” series is composed of a thinner inner lining. It is totally rigid in the width to offer you optimal compression, but is slightly stretchable in the height, which offers better comfort.
The “X-TRA” series is composed of a thicker inner lining 100% cotton and completely rigid which will offer you better compression. This model is more compressing than the Original series model.
We recommend the “Original” binders for people with weak or medium torsos, with A and B cups.
From a C cup, we recommend taking a product from the “X-Tra” range, for a more compressive effect and which will give you a “flatter” effect on your torso.
Of course, these are just recommendations! If for example, you have a C cup and you prefer to take an Original model for a not too compressing effect. And conversely, you can take an X-Tra model even if you have a B cup. There are no rules!
Be careful though to take the right size binder and follow safety rules !
